This is my second review for St. Johns. After the first successful reunion for Octel, I decided to hold another for Nortel. It was even better than the first! Juanita was so helpful with everything. It's a great place for an event of 20-100 people. They allowed us to reserve most of the covered patio and we eventually filled the whole thing with almost 80 people. For other guests, there is another open area plus the entire inside. The food is terrific, reasonably priced and pretty fast. The line gets long but it goes pretty fast. TIPS for a REUNION Bring a portable speaker for any speeches you want. It gets pretty loud with the traffic from Lawrence. Our Karaoke speaker worked well They let us turn down the TV volume too. Very important - the tables get really dirty overnight. Not sure why, but they start cleaning them at 10:30 for a 11:30 opening. If you arrive at 10:30, you can clean the first table on your own to get it started, and then put out table decorations as they clean them. It worked really well. We also hung a small banner on the left of the entrance, and put balloons on strings and inexpensive balloon theme tablecloths from discount stores. People were so thrilled. I would definitely call this place my reunion central for the next one!
I am a burger guy and this spot is approved! It's perfect for work lunch, family dinners or a nice meal with a beer. Great eats and bang for your bucks! I think it excels simply by having a great juicy patty with tasty toppings. Can't go wrong here.
This is a quintessential bar restaurant that reminds me of the places back east in Boston (think the "Cheers" bar). You pull up to one bar to order food, and another get beer. The lines can be long and it's a Silicon Valley dude hangout. Along with the many TVs and games going on, it's a place for guys and the girls who love them. There's also outside, covered seating. The long list of menu items offer burgers, cheesesteaks, but the stellar stand out is the grilled chicken sandwiches. This is easily the best chicken sandwich in town. Just a slab of real chicken thighs grilled to juicy perfection on a plain bun with your choice of toppings. The fries are not greasy, have a good texture, and have the skin on. Then there's the full menu of beer on tap WITH a couple of ciders thrown (very East Coast/New England). Spicy food here is actually spicy!! They *allegedly* have a carrot cake but every single time I've been there it's been sold out. Carrot cake is my all-time-favorite and I've been trying since 2009 (!!!) to get a slice. The quest continues.
This is a solid spot for drinks and bar food! I love how easy it is to order. They have condiments easily accessible. We loved our burgers and chicken (thighs) and bacon burger. Onion rings are a must!!! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking was also easy.
My favorite place to grab lunch. Words can't describe how special this place is. There's nothing better than coming here on Thursday, grabbing a pint of Pliny the Elder, and then having the patty melt. Fantastic experience
Solid burger spot! St John has been around for decades but this was my first time trying it. You order at the register and seat yourself. Burgers range $13-$15 and come with a bag of Lays chips. Burger was tasty - I liked the potato bun, but I wish they would ask how to cook the meat as I thought mine was slightly well done. The garlic fries were really good and a big portion. The Buffalo wings were terrible though - do not order. Overall a great burger joint.
St. John's is the place to be! Lots of great beer, burgers, and sports. They have a beer garden, a chill vibe, and huge portions. Went here before a show at Levi's Stadium, and it looks like everybody else had the same idea!
I often came here with friends when they had their weekly deals which they do not do anymore. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and also outdoor seating with shade. As for parking, it is located in a plaza which can be crowded but sometimes there is plenty of parking. For food, the quality is different from the previous years and the garlic fries' portion had too much garlic and less fries in it. The cheesesteak had flavor but lots of bread than meat. As for the burgers, they still taste filling and so good! I also ordered their sweet potato fries which were yummy too.
St. John's is a good sports bar and depending on the sport and season, it can get super crowded! They have inside and outside dining options. Plenty of tvs to watch your favorite sport. The restaurant is decorated in a sports theme. The last time I went here, they used to have daily specials, like BOGO, half off sandwiches, etc. Unfortunately, they discontinued them. I didn't see the signage they used to have. Anyways, still delicious burgers. Patty Melt: 1/3 lb fresh ground chuck with grilled onions and cheddar cheese on toasted sliced sourdough. Small Side Of Our Just-Cut Fries. They do have new sauces for dipping or on your burger. For example, chipotle ketchup, curry ketchup, and honey mustard.
